Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 21, 2026

The Mono Keys app does not collect, store, or share any personal data.

Keyboard input

Mono Keys uses macOS Input Monitoring only to detect that a key was pressed, so it can play a sound at that moment. The characters you type are never recorded, saved, logged, or transmitted. The app uses a listen-only system event tap; it cannot modify or block what you type.

No network

The app does not connect to the internet. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. Mono Keys ships with no network entitlement.

Local settings

Your preferences — selected sound, volume, favorites, and the apps you've chosen to mute in — and any sound files you import are stored only on your Mac, inside the app's sandbox. You can remove imported sounds in the app at any time. To remove all app data after uninstalling, delete the folder ~/Library/Containers/centrago.Keyboard-Sounds.

This website

This privacy policy covers both the Mono Keys app and the monokeys.app website. The app collects nothing. The website uses the Meta Pixel to measure visits and clicks on the “Download on the Mac App Store” button, so we can understand which ads work. Meta may receive standard browser data (such as IP address, browser type and pages viewed) and may set cookies. You can opt out with your browser's privacy settings, an ad blocker, or Meta's ad preferences at facebook.com/adpreferences. The website does not collect your name, email, or anything you type.

Children

The app collects no data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
